Should you figure out what your customer would like and give them?.
Let us see what Hamdi the founder of Chobani did.
Hamdi Ulukaya, the founder of Chobani got the idea to start a Greek Yogurt in America.
He was not sure how to make a great tasting Yogurt.
He hired a family friend, Dogan, from Turkey, who is a master yogurt maker.
They wanted yogurt that would retain its good taste and texture for at least six weeks, and tested hundreds of recipes using different cultures with milk at varying durations and temperatures.
Hamdi often spent many nights at his office;
They worked tirelessly for the next two years.
After about 18 months of trial and error—and a great many batches of very bad yogurt — Hamdi and Dogan finally came up with a recipe they loved.
Hamdi wanted to make sure the product was perfect because…
He knew he only had one shot when the customer tasted it and it had to work.
Even though he spent two years working on it , it was very important for him that his customers liked it.
It did work and Chobani became a billion dollar company.
Let us see how a simple idea made $200K/Month.
Mikael Soderlind got an idea to modernize the antiqued Knife sharpening service.
Sound simple right?
I was surprised this idea worked!
Shortly after writing his business plan, he looked for an authoritative figure.
After a big search, he found Magnus Petersson.
Magnus had 30 years’ experience in knife sharpening.
He had achieved celebrity status among chefs in the high-end restaurants in Los Angeles.
Magnus was the perfect lead Knifesmith for the company.
So he hired him.
Mikael and his family, moved to California to start this idea.
Magnus as the Master Knifesmith, training and overseeing a team of knife sharpeners.
Previously when someone has to sharpen a knife, they used to go a local store.
Magnus decided to make it convenient for the internet age
People could simply mail their knives and get the sharpened knives back at the click of a button.
They used Facebook ads, and Google ads
They also did some PR.
Customers initially sent a few of their knives.
Once they saw how good it was, they sent all their knives.
Word of mouth spread.
They also got repeat customers, because their knives had to be sharpened every 9-12 months.
Magnus says “When your business is something new and has never been offered before, it’s easy to make people aware of it and to drive growth. It’s the key to sticking out.”
He adds “instead of building a bigger team we are working on building better efficiencies”
Now, they are generating more than $200k per month.💰
